Neither park is universally “better” because they offer entirely different safari experiences.
Maasai Mara is better if your priority is tracking apex predators (lions, leopards, cheetahs), witnessing wide-open savannahs, or catching the Great Wildebeest Migration. Amboseli is better if your dream is seeing massive elephant herds up close, birdwatching in lush swamps, and photographing wildlife against the iconic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Can Amboseli and Maasai Mara Safari be combined?
Yes, combining them is highly recommended and incredibly worthwhile. Because they feature completely different landscapes and wildlife highlights, doing both gives you a well-rounded Kenyan safari experience
